- South County Youth Coalition assisted 1,020 youth and families and distributed more than $97,000 directly to youth and families in need for:
- Basic needs such as food, clothing, toiletries, gas, vehicle repairs, utilities, rent.
- Enrichment activities such as sports teams, music lessons, cheer, speech and debate, gymnastics, dance, martial arts, prom, grad night, gym memberships.

- Our Parent Education Program was powered by $30,ooo in grant funding from our partners at First Five of San Luis Obispo County, Parent Connection and Lucia Mar Unified School District. Over 100 no-cost parenting and parent-child participation classes (some in Spanish) were offered in 2023 with a total of 348 participants.
- SCYC was the recipient of a 2-year $50,000 grant from the SLO County American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) to help offset the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic. SCYC saw a great need for mental health support, especially at the elementary level where fewer resources are available. About 30 students participated in 8-week long group sessions, learning coping skills to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression and increase confidence and positive behaviors.
- Thanks to a $9,500 Disaster Relief Grant from the Community Foundation San Luis Obispo County, SCYC was able to help families who suffered loss of wages, damages and displacement due to the severe winter storms.
- Our annual Holiday Program received more than $13,000 in cash donations and thousands more in gifts, food and gift cards from our generous partners and donors. Nearly 300 South County families in need were the recipients of a brighter holiday celebration.
